Take three capsules with water 20 minutes before lunch and dinner.
Water - You must drink 16 ounces of water for Plenity to work.
Plenity® is indicated to aid weight management in adults with excess weight or obesity, with a Body Mass Index range of 25–40 kg/m², when used with diet and exercise.
Plenity is not indicated for anyone under 22. If you are pregnant or are allergic to cellulose, citric acid, sodium stearyl fumarate, gelatin, or titanium dioxide, you should not take Plenity.
To help patients manage their weight, Plenity™ is an oral capsule that encourages fullness and might help boost satiety. Plenity is nonsystemic and operates mostly in the GI tract..
Plenity is made from two natural ingredients, cellulose, and citric acid, forming a three-dimensional matrix created to occupy volume in the stomach and small intestine to create fullness.
Each Plenity capsule weighs 0.75 grams and includes thousands of superabsorbent hydrogel particles, each measuring close to the size of a grain of salt. Before lunch and supper, patients take three (3) tablets (2.25 g/dose) with water.
The capsules disintegrate in the stomach and release the Plenity particles, which can hydrate up to 100 times their original weight. When fully hydrated, the individual non-clustering Plenity particles occupy about a quarter of average stomach volume.
The gel particles combine with the food consumed to increase the volume and viscosity of the stomach and small intestine, encouraging satiety and a feeling of fullness.
The three-dimensional structure of Plenity is preserved in the stomach and small intestine during digestion before it disintegrates. The body then releases the water and absorbs it again. Regular bowel motions remove plenity particles (not absorbed).
