As the New Year becomes a distant memory, the initial motivation to stick to our resolutions can be somewhat lost. The temptation to kick back with a sugary snack can be overwhelming. But with Spring just around the corner, don’t go reaching for that candy just yet. But even with bikini season coming soon, it can be hard to overcome laziness and stick with a diet. Well, fear not. Here is a list of handy dandy tips for lazy dieting.
Keep breakfast simple
Just because you’re on a diet doesn’t mean you need to go all out for your healthy meals. Sometimes the simplest choices are the best. For breakfast, opt for oatmeal and fruit over something high maintenance.
Makes some tweaks to your daily diet
* Ditch the coffee and start drinking green tea. It has the caffeine you crave in the morning, but it’s a little better for you.
* Opt for low-fat popcorn over potato chips at lunch. Popcorn contains an eighth of the fat potato chips do, and they’re just as snackable.
* Drink more water. Don’t confuse hunger with thirst, more often than not, that hungry feeling is simply our body’s cry for fluids. Before reaching for a snack, have a glass of water and see if this helps.
Exercise vs Sleep
You don’t need to wake up at the crack of dawn to exercise. Your body needs those precious hours of sleep. So, sleep in for a bit, but be prepared to get out of bed and sweat.
Size matters
More often than not, portion control can be the downfall for many people. Think carefully about how much food is on your plate and don’t pile it too high. Not only will this help in the short term but is a long term solution for ongoing weight management.
