No diet is easy.  The veggies the exercise, the calorie counting – it takes a commitment.  While some diets recommend snacking throughout the day to quell the hunger, a new study finds munching between breakfast and dinner may toss your diet off its track.

What you need to know
About 100 women were put on a special diet and in the end, those that snacked after breakfast lost less weight.  The mid-morning snackers lost about 7 percent of their total body weight, but those who didn’t snack mid-morning lost 11.5 percent, according to the report.

“Snacking, per se, isn’t bad, it’s more what you eat and when you are snacking,” Dr. Anne McTiernan, director of the Prevention Center at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center’s Public Health Sciences Division said. “If you start snacking in the morning, you might be eating more throughout the day and taking more food in.”

Tips for dieters
While the study provides an interesting new theory into the world of weight loss, researchers believe more work needs to be done.  For example, some believe its not necessarily the time people snack, but what they snack on.  Until more research is in, McTiernan encourages dieters to limit a snack to no more than 200 calories. Healthier snacks include low-fat yogurt, string cheese or a handful of nuts.

Extra boost in the diet
For those struggling to lose weight, Xenical may be an option.  This FDA approved medication helps the body break down fat and limits the amount of food absorbed by the body, making dieting and little easier.  Many dieters have added Xenical to their diet plan with much success.  The medication comes in pill form and is typically taken with each meal.  This medication is available through Edrugstore, a safe and secure online pharmacy.
