Men With Peyronie’s Disease Have Higher Risk of BPH and Cancers

Researchers at the American Urological Association’s 2018 annual meeting reported that men with Peyronie’s disease (PD) have a greater risk of enlarged prostate, prostatitis and various malignancies, including prostate, testis and stomach cancers.

As the report explained: “Men with PD have an increased risk of developing BPH, LUTS, prostatitis, and keloid. This may be related to myofibroblast activity, and these findings support a common etiology for these conditions that may manifest at different points during the male life cycle.”

Peyronie’s disease and erectile dysfunction

Peyronie’s disease is caused by the build-up of scar tissues on the penis which causes curved erections that are often painful. Many men with Peyronie’s disease also develop erectile dysfunction.

Sometimes, Peyronie’s disease goes away on its own, but for most men, it either stays the same or gets worse.

In addition to causing erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease can make sex difficult because of the curve or anxiety. Obviously, lack of sex makes fathering a child difficult.

Can you use Viagra if you have Peyronie’s disease?

This is a discussion best had with your medical provider. Although some men with Peyronie’s disease and erectile dysfunction can use Viagra with good results, it depends on several factors, including the dosage, how curved your penis and how much scarring you have.

Regardless of whether you have PD, you’ll need to talk to your doctor if you want to try Viagra for erectile dysfunction. The FDA requires men to get a prescription for Viagra, which helps ensure that what they’re getting is pure and effective.

It’s an effective way to help men avoid getting fake Viagra, which has been found to contain such dangerous toxins as road paint, arsenic, and detergent.

Talking to your doctor about erectile dysfunction will also give you a chance to learn more about Viagra, including how and when to take it, its side effects and whether you’re a good candidate to take erectile dysfunction drugs based on your current and past health conditions and medications.
