More about the political ad
Among other things, the ad pokes fun of Boehner’s last name and his inability to maintain a backbone against Democrats. Part of the script says:

Winteregg’s team says the commercial is provocative. Boehner’s team didn’t comment on the new ad, but a sitting speaker has never been defeated in a primary election, according to ABC News.
Fallout from the ad
Boehner’s team may not have a comment, but the college that employs Winteregg did. The school, where Winteregg worked as an adjunct professor for three years, terminated his contract because of the ad. The small Baptist institution, which enrolls 3,400 undergraduate, graduate, and online students, says Winteegg’s views did not match those of the school. Cederville University released this statement:
“Cedarville University does not engage in partisan politics and holds a high regard for displaying Christian values in the community. When faculty or staff members participate in political conversations, interviews, advertisements, or endorsements, they are doing so as individual citizens,” the spokesman, Mark Weinstein, tells news sources. “Mr. Winteregg in his recent political campaign video did not represent the views or values of Cedarville University.”

Winteregg and two other opponents are set to challenge the Speaker in the state’s primary a week from Tuesday.
