A new product is on the market that is touting a new way to help smokers kick that habit: an herbal tea.

Holistic healers believe adding the tea to a variety of other treatments will aid people trying to quit. The tea is called Quit Tea.  Dr. Douglas Yost, a chiropractor in Shoreview Minnesota says, “my patients love the flavor of Quit Tea, have had decreased cravings to smoke, and will definitely continue using the tea to help them quit smoking.”

The treatments performed by holistic healers include cold laser therapy, acupuncture, hypnosis, behavioral modification therapy, and nutrition. Quit Tea fits into this market of in-office therapies as an effective natural product that can be used in between sessions to greatly increase quitting success.

Those who aren’t looking for the holistic approach say Zyban is something to consider. “I was a two pack a day smoker and I used Zyban for about a year and I managed to quit,” Mark Johnson said. “When you are serious about quitting Zyban really is the way to leave the nasty habit behind for good. ”

Zyban comes as a tablet and a sustained-release or extended-release tablet to take by mouth. The regular tablet is usually taken three or four times a day, with doses at least 6 hours apart. It can be taken before you quit smoking and after to slowly ease people off smoking.

“I do not endorse many medications,” Shelly Wade said. “However, this medication did help me and I would recommend it to anyone that is really considering quitting as a reality.”

Some people have reported symptoms such as changes in behavior, hostility, agitation, depressed mood, and suicidal thoughts so it is important to talk with your doctor before taking Zyban so you are aware of all the side effects.
