The average price of Cialis daily fell slightly in April. However, the price of its generic equivalent, tadalafil daily, increased sharply in price from the prior month.
The average prices of Cialis daily and its generic equivalent, tadalafil daily, moved in opposite directions in April 2020, according to data from Secure Medical’s monthly review of select prescription drug prices.
The brand-name drug decreased a very modest five cents from $13.74 in March to $13.69 per 5 mg tablet in April 2020. In sharp contrast, the average price of tadalafil daily shot up 50.2 percent from $3.15 in March to $4.73 per 5 mg tablet in April.
Supply Chain Disruptions?
Normal supply chain operations have been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It’s possible that generic drugmakers experienced shortages of tadalafil, much of which is produced in overseas markets and shipped into the United States.
Despite the April jump in price, tadalafil daily still remains a far cheaper alternative to the brand-name drug by a factor of almost three to one.
Dispensed in tablets of 2.5 and 5 mg, Cialis daily and tadalafil daily are the lower-strength siblings of 10 and 20 mg Cialis as-needed and tadalafil as-needed. The latter are taken 60 to 120 minutes before the anticipated start of sexual activity and can last for up to 36 hours. Their price activity is reported in a separate blog post.
The Only Daily ED Drugs
Cialis daily and tadalafil daily are the only erectile dysfunction (ED) medications that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for daily use. Tadalafil, which is both the generic equivalent of Cialis and its active ingredient, has a half-life of 17.5 hours, far longer than any other ED drug.
When taken daily, therapeutic levels of its active ingredient will build up in the bloodstream so that, within two or three days, men are able to get and keep an erection for whenever the time is right. From that point on, men should be ready for sexual activity 24/7, providing, of course, they continue to take the drug as prescribed.
Down from Mid-’19 Levels
Although the average prices of Cialis daily and tadalafil daily moved in opposite directions in April 2020, the prices of both drugs are well below their levels of mid-2019. The $13.69 average price of Cialis daily in April 2020 is 16.8 percent lower than its July 2019 average of $16.46. Similarly, the $4.73 average price of tadalafil daily in April is 37.8 percent lower than its July 2019 price of $7.61.

Added-Value Services
Prices at eDrugstore cover not just the drugs you’re ordering, but a bundle of added-value services as well. Perhaps the most popular of those is eDrugstore’s complimentary online consultation service, which consists of a telemedicine “visit” between you and a physician licensed to practice in your state. If the doctor determines that you’re an appropriate candidate for the drug, a prescription will be issued.
That prescription is then routed by eDrugstore to one of its licensed U.S. pharmacy partners, which will fill the order and ship it promptly to the destination of your choice. To learn more, pay a visit to eDrugstore’s Erectile Dysfunction page.
