The team behind the creation of Viagra is announcing a female version of the pill could hit the market in the UK at the end of this year.

The female Viagra

Research on the new pill shows promising effects on female sex drives. It doesn’t take long to work either. According to The Daily Mail, women take the pill just fifteen minutes before having sex and it can last for two hours.

Plus, there’s another bonus: it could also help women lose weight. The female wonder drug could make a big splash when the British company, ORLIBID, rolls it out.

The drug is actually a synthetic version of melatonin, a hormone that’s usually associated with tanning and the sun. Studies have shown a connection between melatonin and sexual desire, but scientists struggled to turn the substance into a pill form. Until now.

Mike Wyllie, who was part of the team that created Viagra and is advising ORLIBID, says: “The medication will be for everyone from those where female sexual dysfunction is destroying their relationships to those just wanting to spice up their sex life.”

Pricing will probably rival that of Viagra, analysts predict.

Finally, an option for women

Viagra has been around for 15 years. While other competitors like Cialis and Levitra have been introduced since then, there are a number of options to boost the sex life of men for some time. Now, it seems, it’s the gal’s turn.

While some people may not believe that sexual dysfunction in women is a big problem, doctors say otherwise.

“Low sexual desire is by no means a trivial problem. It affects lives, relationships, productivity and satisfaction,” Dr John Dean, a past president of the International Society for Sexual Medicine says.
