No proof that turtle meat helps erectile dysfunction
Where once fishermen were killing the turtles just for meat, now some people are claiming that turtle fat can treat asthma, the flu, and erectile dysfunction, as well as fend off extreme cold if you cover yourself in the oil, or even help you stay underwater longer if you apply the turtle oil to your face.
The rumors are keeping KWS and other conservationists busy as they struggle to save the turtles from extinction.
As for the belief that the turtle meat can cure erectile dysfunction, Lamu County Hospital Nutritionist Charles Mwashighadi says it’s just not true. “There are many nutritional ways to cure asthmas, erectile dysfunction and other illnesses,” he explains. “There is no scientific link between turtle meat and these conditions.”
