Could a Sex Robot Cure Your Erectile Dysfunction?

Santos and his wife of 16 years have discovered that a sex robot named Samantha can do wonders for your sex life.

The somewhat lifelike silicon doll was expensive, but she does have some amazing attributes. She tells jokes, can quote philosophy and, because of her artificial skin has a network of sensor, simulates having an orgasm.

Helping with erectile dysfunction

Between Samantha and his wife, Santos has sex four to six times a week. He says he doesn’t have erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation, but he thinks Samantha (or dolls like her), could help men who do.

Santos figures that you don’t have to worry about performance anxiety with a robot. “This can serve as training to regulate your system,” he says. “A normal doll doesn’t give you feedback. [With Samantha], unless you give her a proper orgasm, you won’t feel you’ve properly finished. She turns into a toy. You want to explore everything and take your time. And she won’t laugh at you or judge you.”

NYU’s Langone Medical Center’s Dr. Bobby Najari, a urologist who specializes in erectile dysfunction, says there may be some instances when a sex robot could help with erectile dysfunction, but not all men.

As he explains, erectile dysfunction is more often due to physiological problems than psychological ones. So, unless Samantha can cure heart disease and diabetes, she’s probably not going to fix erectile dysfunction for most men.

For men who have erectile dysfunction due to medical or neurological causes, erectile dysfunction drugs, such as Cialis will likely help.

Men just seeking to get in a little extra practice to please their human partner might get their money’s worth out of Samantha, but she still costs an arm and a leg.
