Who Can Use Plenity?

When combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, Plenity® helps both male and female individuals who are overweight or obese, with a (BMI) Body Mass Index of 25–40 kg/m2, maintain their weight. People below the age of 22 should not use Plenity. Do not take Plenity if you are pregnant or have an allergy to cellulose, citric acid, sodium stearyl fumarate, gelatin, or titanium dioxide.

The Science Behind Plenity

An oral capsule called Plenity™ encourages fullness and may help people better control their weight. Plenity capsules are created from cellulose and citric acid, two natural components, and form a three-dimensional matrix that fills the stomach and small intestine with volume to make you feel full. The gastrointestinal (GI) tract is where Plenitys nonsystemic action takes place.

A salt grain-sized amount of superabsorbent hydrogel particles, or thousands per Plenity gel capsule, are present (0.75 grams [g] per capsule). Patients take three (3) gel caps (2.25 g/dose) with water before eating lunch and dinner.

The particles, which can hydrate to 100 times their original weight, are released when the capsules break down in the stomach. The individual non-clustering Plenity particles take up around 25% of the ordinary persons stomach volume when completely hydrated.

The particles combine with the food you consume, increasing the volume and suppleness of the small intestine and stomach and fostering a feeling of fullness.v

Plenity exits through the digestive system, maintaining its three-dimensional structure in the small intestine and stomach.

Plenity particles get eliminated through regular bowel movements (not absorbed). The water remaining is then released and reabsorbed by the body.
