At Least Half a Million People Are Newly Affected Annually.
The estimates of patients newly affected by genital warts, range from one-half to one million per year. Exact numbers are not known because many people don’t want to admit to it, and many more are unaware they have. But one thing’s for certain: external genital warts are contagious and they threaten the sexual health of patients.

Genital warts are caused by human papilloma virus (HPV), a sexually-transmitted virus. There are more than 100 different strains of HPV, and some can lead to serious health problems such as cervical cancer. HPV is spread not only through sexual intercourse, but through other genital contact as well, including oral sex and genital rubbing or petting.

It is also sometimes spread simply by skin-to-skin contact. Genital Warts Are More Common Than You Might Think. Two out of three people who have sexual contact with a person with genital warts will contract them, and at least half of all sexually active people will contract HPV at some point in their lives. There is no cure for HPV, but there is a way to make the warts go away: Condylox gel.

Condylox Gel Is Effective for Genital Warts Treatment.
Condylox gel is used for removal of some types of warts on the outer skin of the genitalia (penis or vulva). The gel can also be used to treat warts between the genitals and the rectum. These warts are known collectively as anogenital warts. Condlylox is NOT meant to treat warts that may occur inside the rectum, vagina, or urinary passages inside the penis or the vulva. Condylox works by destroying the skin of the wart.

How to Use Condylox.
To apply Condylox gel, it is recommended you use a cotton-tipped applicator or your finger. If you do use your finger, be sure to wash the remaining gel off as soon as possible. Be careful to avoid contact with your eyes, and if you do get if in your eyes, flush them out immediately for 15 minutes. Typically, Condylox is used for three days, with four days off, and should be used for no more than four treatment cycles. Condylox gel is for anogenital warts, so be sure not to use it on everyday warts on another part of your body.

Condylox Gel May Have Side Effects.
Along with their necessary effects, most medicines may also cause some unwanted side effects. Some of the most common side effects with Condylox gel may include:

  • Bleeding of treated skin
  • Blistering, crusting, or scabbing of treated skin
  • Burning feeling of treated skin
  • Headache
  • Itching of treated skin
  • Pain of treated skin
  • Redness or swelling of treated skin
  • Skin ulcers of treated skin
  • Dryness of treated skin
  • Peeling of treated skin
  • Soreness or tenderness of treated skin
  • Stinging or tingling of treated skin

Less common side effects can include changes in color of treated skin or skin rash.
