Podcast Synopsis:

Laura Ann Allahverdi joined eHealth Radio.  Laura is a Personal Life Coach and Business Consultant. She’s been a go-getter my whole life, always anticipating the next step and learning everything she could along the way. She attended college at St. Johns University where she studied Psychology and Visual Arts and then finished school at Dowling University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing. She worked various sales jobs while attending school and with her psychology background, she became a master at reading people and figured out what made them make decisions.

As soon as she got out of college she attempted to purchase her own business. When that didn’t work out, she took a job in marketing instead. Throughout her time in the job force, she had many obstacles to overcome in her life. She always felt that the job she had was not fulfilling all her needs and subconsciously (as she later found out) that manifested itself into anxiety and panic attacks, and another year as depression and a constant urge to sleep. In between these down times, she combated the lack of fulfillment by pursuing her entrepreneurial nature and attempted to purchase businesses, she wrote for a newspaper, flipped real estate, designed brochures, painted and even taught aerobics classes.

Throughout those uneasy and scary times in her life, she sought professional help and guidance from experts. She studied the issues she had and hired anyone who could help her think differently. She absorbed like a sponge all the information she received and used that knowledge to overcome those obstacles and turned her energy into the businesses she researched and the drive she had to pursue other things.

Laura always juggled work while studying at school, and later on, a busy work schedule, as she wore many hats in her last position in the job force. She learned to be extremely organized and efficient at what she did. She could fit a seven-day workweek into four days. She has always worked in small businesses and always grew very quickly within them, taking on and learning much more than in her original job description. In her attempts to purchase small businesses of my own, she researched them from the inside out. With all this knowledge she gained from my experience, she began assisting other entrepreneurs with their businesses. It was easy to see what was and wasn’t working and she would write business plans to help them succeed.

In her last position as a Promotional Marketing Manager, she had the pleasure of training and motivating hundreds of young women to directly market goods to consumers. They had to be at their best because they were “putting on a show” for the people. She was able to come up with her own ways of motivating and training them through my experiences in their position. Laura even gave some of them special attention by delving further into their lives when she sensed something was holding them back. She found myself helping them with anything from family issues to self esteem issues and saw a definite change in their lives and attitudes. This was the best part of her job.

Laura has always been the advice giver and was just so ambitious and eager to learn. Throughout all her life experiences, she has always overcome her obstacles and became empowered because of them. She haslearned so much about people through her work as well as herself through expert advice. The ability she has to help others, change their perspectives and teach them life skills gives me great satisfaction. She is now proud to pass on all my knowledge and life experiences to others.
