A healthy, well-balanced diet that includes vitamins and minerals from a variety of foods is the best approach to improving overall health and consequently, erection health.
Having a healthy body can improve your sex life. We know that obesity can negatively impact male sexual performance. But diabetes, heart disease, and even insufficient enough sleep can all cause erection problems. Since there’s a pill for everything – including ED – is there also a vitamin that can help you get healthier and solve your erection problems? The answer is: Probably not.
Vitamins and Erection Problems
There are dozens of online vendors seeking to sell you the latest herbal remedy for your erection problems. But Healthline points out that the science has not backed up these claims. They state:
You might think that health-boosting vitamins could help. Although healthier men seem to have healthier erections, there is little evidence to suggest that vitamin supplements can treat ED.
Men’s Health points out that claims that amino acids such as L-Arginine can boost erection performance seem to make sense on the surface, but scientists and researchers have been unable to quantify claims that these supplements actually work.
Interestingly, research has shown that erection problems can result from a lack of one vitamin – Vitamin D. A 2015 Johns Hopkins research study correlated erection problems with a lack of the “sunshine vitamin.”
However, Nursing Times issued a warning against “herbal Viagra” and other pseudo-treatments from online vendors and Chinese medicine stores. These supplements can have serious side effects along with not having FDA-approval.
For now, FDA-approved ED medications such as Viagra are clearly the best, most reliable, and safest choice for solving erection problems.
