This sweet treat is just for men.

When can something cold and sweet turn into something that sizzles? When it’s Viagra ice cream!

Viagra ice cream might sound like something you’d read about at The Onion satire news site, or maybe at Cracked.com. But while it might be a fun way to take your medicine, it’s not a joke; it’s the real thing.

A food inventor in the UK has used his skills to take two good things and make them even better. While it’s not on the menu at Ben & Jerry’s and you won’t find it in the freezer section at your grocery store, it does exist.

Who’s Behind Viagra Ice Cream?

Charlie Harry Francis is the food inventor who owns a company called, “Lick Me, I’m Delicious.” He’s known for a glow in the dark flavor, among others, according to the LA Times.

Francis says this special flavor of blue ice cream tastes like champagne, and each 1-dose scoop contains 25 mg of the popular erection medication, Viagra.

Francis explains at his Lick Me, I’m Delicious website that he was raised in a family where desserts were the order of the day. His father made ice cream, and his mother was a baker who created many kinds of sweets.

Arousal was the brain child of one of Francis’ A-list celebrity clients. Francis said he is bound by a confidentiality agreement with the celebrity, so he can’t divulge many details. But he can confirm that his client was well-pleased with the grown up ice cream and with the “end result.”

Sorry, but This Designer Flavor isn’t Available at Retail

The creation of Arousal might have happened as a one-time deal. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have your own fair share. You can’t go to any ice cream shop and find it there, and Francis doesn’t have it in stock ready to ship in a crate of dry ice.

But if you have the available funds, you might have your own special party where Francis makes Arousal in front of your very eyes. It won’t be cheap, but it might be worth it. Francis says Arousal cost about $33 per one-dose scoop to blend. But you could probably expect to pay a bit more than that if you hire him to cater your next event.

Don’t Try This at Home

Viagra can be taken with food or without it. But it’s not designed as a medication that you should crush instead of swallowing whole. To make your own Viagra ice cream, that’s what you would theoretically need to do. There is little research available on the effectiveness of an off-label way to take Viagra. Most is centered around a sublingual dose for men who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

Crushing a pill can speed up its effectiveness, which isn’t always a good thing. And it might alter your results in other ways that aren’t what you expected. Your doctor is the best resource for information on whether you can safely take Viagra in any form besides the little blue pill that you’re probably familiar with.

If you get the green light from your doctor, then you might mix up a serving in your own kitchen. But be aware that making an ice cream Viagra treat for anyone besides yourself might not be legal. Also, remember that the makers of Viagra say fatty foods can slow down its effectiveness. Ice cream is definitely a fatty food.

It’s safer to take your medicine, then have your ice cream.
Why All the Fuss when Viagra is Safe?

Viagra is known as a safe and effective way for men to boost erection health. Unless you take nitrates for chest pain or have a health condition that your doctor has determined is a reason to stay away from the little blue pill and others like it, it can increase blood flow and help erections happen like they normally would. But any use of a medication that’s not in line with its dosage directions is considered “off label” use.

Off-label dosages aren’t uncommon. There are many medications that are taken in different ways from how they were originally intended. But that happens as a result of clinical trials and physician experience; it doesn’t happen in your home kitchen or anyone else’s. At least it shouldn’t.

Viagra is not available without a prescription. That means your doctor is the one who is best suited to tell you whether you can create your own serving of Viagra ice cream, and how to go about doing it.

A Better Course of Action

If you love sweet treats and take Viagra for erection health, you can still have your ice cream and eat it, too. Just do it in a way that you know will work. You don’t need a combination ice cream factory / apothecary in your home to get good results.

If you take Viagra about a hour before sexual activity, that leaves plenty of time for ice cream. You can serve some up at home, or even go out on a date to a shop with your sweetheart. The best part is that plain old ice cream is safe to share with your partner. And sharing is part of the fun. If it’s mixed with a medication, then one scoop is dose of medicine instead of a treat.

Viagra works for most men who take it. And it works with food, or without it. With so many other options available to you, there’s no real reason to crave it in ice cream.

If you haven’t taken the little blue pill before, there are some things that you should know. Men who take nitrates for chest pain can experience an unexpected and dangerous drop in blood pressure. Also, men who have certain other health conditions shouldn’t take Viagra. Only your doctor or health care provider can tell you if it’s safe for you.

Have your Viagra, then have your ice cream.
Also, Viagra doesn’t always work on with the first dose. And that doesn’t mean you can take another right away. Follow the directions on the bottle to the letter. If it’s not effective the first time, you can have another dose a day or so later. And if it’s still not as effective as you would like, you can talk with your doctor about trying a different dose or a different type of erection health medication.

Champagne-flavored Arousal might be making the news as the hottest thing in ice cream, but the story is more for entertainment than anything else. What you can learn from it is that Viagra does work, and so it might be time to talk with your doctor about your own prescription.
