Family and friends are coming to your home soon, loaded with presents and good cheer. But there’s one problem; your Christmas tree, the centerpiece of your holiday home, is looking weak. The needles are sagging. The tree is drooping. It doesn’t look like it’s going to make it through the holiday feast. So, it’s time to get inventive. How can you bring this tree back to it’s firm, rigid glory?
Viagra. Yes, really. In a recent episode of “Mythbusters,” Adam and Jamie found that dissolving the little blue tablet in the tree’s water dish can help your tree to hold onto it’s needles for a little longer. But while Viagra might help your tree to look good for company, it’s a short term solution.
After about four to five hours, your tree will begin to look sickly, and will eventually return to it’s previous pathetic state. But this relapse is inevitable no matter what method you use to make your tree look better, your tree will still be dead.
The only way to stave off the brown needles is by cutting one inch off the bottom of your tree and keeping its water dish full at all times. Even then, the tree will only last about two to three weeks before it’s time to put it out to pasture.
