Can Indian Long Pepper Help Your Erectile Dysfunction?
If you follow Ayurveda medicine at all, you probably know that Pippali (also known as “Indian long pepper”) is one of the most used plants in the system due to its many medicinal applications.

In addition to being used for lung rejuvenation, allergies, digestion, and circulation, the plant is especially valued for its aphrodisiac properties, as well as its potential to treat erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.

Want to try it? One of the simplest ways to add Pippali to your diet is by using it in place of black pepper in savory dishes.

Treating erectile dysfunction with Viagra and Cialis

Although there is very little proof that Indian long pepper can treat erectile dysfunction, there are forms of traditional medicine that have been found to treat erectile dysfunction in more than 80% of men.

Known as phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors, Viagra and Cialis work by triggering the relaxation of the smooth muscle in the penis, causing an erection.

Viagra vs. Cialis

Both Viagra and Cialis only work when a man is aroused, and both are contraindicated with nitrates and some other medications. They have similar side effects, such as a headache, flushing, and indigestion.

Viagra is that brand name for sildenafil and Cialis is the brand name for tadalafil. Cialis can be taken with or without food, while Viagra’s effects can be lessened if taken with a high-fat food and therefore it’s best taken on an empty stomach.

Cialis typically “kicks in” between 16 and 45 minutes, while Viagra works in about 30 minutes. Cialis works for about 36 hours, while Viagra works for four to five hours.

Cialis can be taken as needed or on a daily basis at a lower dosage. Viagra is taken on an as-needed basis, about one hour before you plan to have sex, although it can be taken anywhere from 30 minutes to four hours before intercourse.
