Uninterested in Sex Lately? ED Could Be a Problem Soon
Have you lost that loving feeling? If your sex life is a little lackluster, it might be a warning of what’s to come.

Research now shows that men who notice a decrease in their sexual desire are more likely to deal with erectile dysfunction in the future.

Research links sexual desire to ED

A study of more than 800 men shows those with fewer sexual thoughts or desires are more likely to develop ED within the next nine years.

“The findings suggest that indications of reduced sexual function appear years before ED, and that there may be a time window for intervention before a more complete loss of erectile function,” says researcher Susan A. Hall, PhD, of the New England Research Institutes.

Researchers asked men questions about their sexual health between 1987 and 1989. They followed up with these same men nine years later and found some unique results:

  • Men who reported some trouble getting an erection during their first interview were twice as likely to develop ED.
  • Men who had sexual fantasies or erotic dreams just once a week or less were also twice as likely to develop ED.

How to increase your sexual desire

If you’ve lost your sexual mojo, it’s time to make a change before a condition like ED takes hold. How can you increase your sexual desire? Here are some tips:

  • Make an effort. Your sexual desire might return on its own, but you shouldn’t leave it to chance. You’ll need to make some changes.
  • Have sex more often. Even if you’re not really in the mood, try to turn an ordinary night into something fun with your partner.
  • Get creative. Don’t have the same old sex. Try something different. Do some role-playing, wear costumes or a get busy in a new location.
  • Get medical help. If you’re dealing with ED symptoms, talk with your doctor about a prescription medication like Cialis to manage the condition.
