Housed beneath the skin of the perineum is the pudendal canal, also known as Alcock’s canal, through which pass the nerves and arteries supplying the penis.
Traumatic injury to the perineum often results in damage to these delicate nerves and blood vessels, which in turn can lead to erection problems.
