An App to Help With Erectile Dysfunction After Prostate Cancer
If you’ve had prostate cancer and are now experiencing erectile dysfunction, it might be worth trying out this free app for iOS devices.

Simply called “Erection Kegel Prostate Cancer” (and later in the description, “GuyFit”) this app offers video and images of pelvic floor exercises that claim to help men with erectile dysfunction.

Although the app description is written in broken English (“the rapid recovery of the body after surgeries connect with the removal of erectile dysfunction”), the exercises use images to prevent issues with any language barriers.

There’s also a pro version called “Erection Kegel Prostate Guy Fit,” which sells for $1.99.

The risk of erection dysfunction after prostate surgery

Although there is a risk of erectile dysfunction after a prostatectomy (the removal of all or part of the prostate), there are solutions that can help you get back to good sex.

In an article on the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s website, Johns Hopkins Urologist Trinity Bivalacqua, M.D., Ph.D., says there’s a secret to having a good sex life after prostate cancer.

“You use prescription erection pills,” he explains. “When one of my patients leaves the hospital after a radical prostatectomy, he takes home a prescription for Cialis.”

Cialis is Bivalacqua’s first line of defense against erectile dysfunction, with injectable medications and a penile prosthesis coming in as backup plans. He says that taking an erectile dysfunction pill can not only help with erectile dysfunction but also boosts his confidence.

Usually, men see the most meaningful recovery around 9 to 12 months after surgery. It’s important to keep that in mind. You don’t want to rush into things.

If you’re about to have prostate surgery, talk to your doctor about Cialis to see if it’s something that can help you after surgery. Don’t be afraid to have the conversation. You’re entitled to a healthy sex life, just like everyone else.
