For almost as long as mobile phones have existed, there have been accusations that they can lead to health problems. People reason that the radiation from mobile phones will inevitably lead to cancer, blindness, or all manner of maladies. But while none of these old wives tales have proven to be true, new research has emerged that tue radiation of mobile phones could be linked to erection problems.

According to a recent study published in the Central European Journal of Urology, medical teams in Austria and Egypt have indentified a positive correlation between carrying a switched-on mobile phone and erection problems.

The study utilized a group of 20 men who had complained of erection problems for at least six months, as well as another group of 10 healthy men with no history of erection problems. There was no significant difference between either group regarding age, weight, height, smoking, total testosterone or exposure to other known sources of radiation.

The researchers subjected the men to a rigorous questionnaire concerning sexual health and erection health history, as well as another questionnaire designed to assess their mobile phone usage.

According to the researchers, the men suffering from erection problems carried their switched-on mobiles for an average of 4.4 hours a day, compared with just 1.8 hours for those without any problems.

While these findings are certainly troubling, the researchers conceded that more data is required to prove the findings.
