The Growing market for ED drugs
According to a May 2017 article in Hindustan Times, the market size for ED drugs has doubled over the last five years and is continuing to grow 15% each year.
Eli Lilly and Company (India) Pvt Ltd Managing Director Edgard Olaizola says that the launch of Cialis in India is a natural next step in the company’s relationship with Lupin, which already promotes other Eli Lilly brands, such as Lispro and Eglucent.
“Today, erectile dysfunction is a significant medical condition affecting [a] large number of Indian men,” explains Olaizola. “This partnership will help expand our reach to more patients.”
About Cialis
Marketed in more than 100 countries, Cialis is one of the most well-known and best-selling ED drugs in the world, alongside Viagra and Levitra. The PDE-5 inhibitor is available in 10 mg or 20 mg tablets, and the 5 mg Cialis for daily use is the only medication approved to treat ED and the urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (an enlarged prostate gland).
Men who take “poppers” or nitrates, which are often prescribed for chest pain, shouldn’t take Cialis as it can cause a rapid decrease in blood pressure. In addition, men who take guanylate cyclase stimulators (e.g., riociguat) should not take Cialis.
There are other medications that can affect Cialis, including some types of antibiotics, alpha-blockers for prostate problems, blood pressure medications, and more, so be sure to talk to your doctor about everything you take. Don’t assume he’ll read it on your chart.
If you drink alcohol, limit your intake while taking ED drugs. Drinking too much of any alcoholic beverage while taking can increase your heart rate, lower your blood pressure or make you dizzy.
