There are many things that contribute to a low sex drive.  Here are the top 4 reasons why desire may drop.

Stress
One of the most common causes of erectile dysfunction is stress. When the body feels overworked, it can affect hormone levels.  Aside from distracting a person from sex, stress can restrict blood flow, which alters a man’s ability to get an erection.

Depression
Overwhelming feelings of sadness can lead to many health problems, including decreased sex drive.

“Depression can change the body’s biochemistry and therefore reduce libido,” says Mark L. Held, PhD, a clinical psychologist in the Denver area. “It’s also harder to feel sexual when you’re depressed.” Some medications commonly used to treat depression may also lower libido as a side effect.

Alcohol use
A drink or two may not cause serious problems in the bedroom, but a constituent diet of alcohol can lead to sexual problems.  For those who depend on alcohol to get through the day, their sex drive and their ability to perform will be impaired.

Self Esteem
While self-esteem may not seem like a serious cause for lack of desire, if a person doesn’t have confidence in themselves, or in their appearance, it stands to reason that people would stray away from sex.

“Someone who feels unattractive is less likely to want to engage in sex,” says Dr. Mark Held. “Fears of rejection may also come in to play.”

Treatment options
While there are many causes for diminished sex drive, for some men, erectile dysfunction is a medical condition that happens with little warning.  There are several medications, like Cialis, Viagra and Levitra that can help alleviate this problem.

The most common medication of the three mentioned is Viagra.  This medication came out in 1998 and has become very popular with millions of men that rely on the medication for assistance in their sex life.  Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are all sold on eDrugstore and can be prescribed by our physicians.
