A closer look at the program
There are numerous reasons why sex takes a back seat in a relationship, but experts agree, a healthy sex life does play a role in the overall health of a relationship.
The new yoga program is one piece of a holistic approach to help clients reconnect, Susan Walsh, Psy.D., psychologist and certified yoga instructor for Loyola’s Sexual Wellness Clinic, says.
“Distance and resentment can develop in marriages over time,” she said. “Partner yoga can clear this negative energy and help a couple reconnect and become comfortable with touch and intimacy.”
Clients will take part in sex ed classes and private counseling sessions as well, which will span the course of six weeks.

“Partner yoga will be one way that we help couples strengthen their relationship emotionally, physically and spiritually to ultimately build a deeper connection and improve sexual health.”
Other alternatives
If a couple’s intimacy problems stem from a case of erectile dysfunction, there are oral medications available. There are a number of medications on the market including Viagra, Cialis, Stendra, Staxyn and Levitra. Each medication works a little differently. eDrugstore.com has created a quick ED guide, so men can see how each medication works.
In some cases, doctors suggest combining an oral medication with an alternative therapy, like partner yoga. As always, a doctor should suggest the best treatment for you.
