A new study shows Xenical can help women with a hormone imbalance lose weight. According to WebMD, about one in 15 women have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a condition that causes small cysts to form on the rim of the ovaries. “Xenical (Orlistat) combined with lifestyle changes induces substantial weight loss in women with PCOS, resulting in improvements in insulin resistance and beneficial effects on other established cardiovascular risk factors,” they wrote.
The study, which followed 101 overweight or obese women with PCOS, offers some hope for women who struggle to shed unwanted pounds, according to MedPageToday. The condition can also cause acne, increased facial hair, infrequent periods and infertility problems.

Just weeks ago, another study showed Xenical can improve heart function. When patients used the drug to lose weight, cardiovascular improvements were noticed as well.
