If you don’t live in Australia, you might not have heard of “Dr. Droop.”

Javoc Vaisman, the former director of the erectile dysfunction clinic, Advanced Medical Institute, became well known after he was busted for preying on men who suffered from erectile dysfunction.

Among other claims, Vaisman would tell men that their penises would shrink without his treatment.

He also refused to give a 90-year-old blind man a refund, telling the customer that his 86-year-old old wife with Parkinson’s disease could administer his penis injections.

Someone who worked at the erectile dysfunction clinic testified that Vaisman would often fail to tell patients about potentially dangerous side effects and often charged thousands of dollars for ineffective erectile dysfunction treatments.

Vaisman’s company became well known for its billboards, which read: “Want longer lasting sex?” and “Bonk longer.”

Once the courts caught up

Eventually, the federal court found his company guilty of engaging in “unconscionable conduct” and using unfair contract terms to promote and supply medications and medical services to consumers.

As the Justice Anthony North said in the 2015 judgment, “It is immoral to seek to harness the fears and anxieties of men suffering from ED [erectile dysfunction] or PE [premature ejaculation] for the purpose of selling medical treatments.”

In January 2018, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) took bankruptcy action against Vaisman for his failure to pay the ACCC’s legal costs of $3,679,359.

Effective treatment for erectile dysfunction

If you suffer from erectile dysfunction, don’t fall prey to men like “Dr. Droop” by handing over cash for so-called treatments that may or may not work (and which could be very dangerous).

Instead, head to your doctor to get a prescription for Cialis. This top erectile dysfunction drug has been approved by the FDA and therefore is monitored for safety and effectiveness.
