\"\"<\/a>A new study sets the record straight about the reasons why men and women jump in bed together.\u00a0 Historically, men have a reputation of luring women into bed for a good time, while women want to \u201cfeel a connection.\u201d\u00a0 This new study says those characteristics are bogus.<\/p>\n

The proof<\/strong>
\nResearchers at the University of Texas came up with an extensive list of more than 200 reasons why people have sex, and it turns out men and women agree on the number one reason: they are attracted to the person.\u00a0 In fact, twenty of the top 25 reasons given for having sex were the same for men and women.<\/p>\n

The reaction<\/strong>
\n\u201cIt blows the old misconceptions about men and women out of the water,\u201d Lauren Smith said after reading about the study.\u00a0 \u201cHonestly, I\u2019m shocked.\u201d\u00a0 For Lester Hickle the results were also surprising.\u00a0 \u201cHow could that be?\u201d he said.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s actually refreshing to know that it\u2019s not just guys trying to get girls to bed that they are doing the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s refuted a lot of gender stereotypes … that men only want sex for the physical pleasure and women want love,\u201d said University of Texas clinical psychology professor Cindy Meston, the study\u2019s co-author. \u201cThat\u2019s not what I came up with in my findings.\u201d<\/p>\n
