In <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK548378\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a rare number of cases<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, saw palmetto has been linked with liver damage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, while horny goat weed isn&#8217;t dangerous on its own, it <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK583203\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">may interact with other ingredients<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to cause liver injury. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4452531\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ginseng<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> does have antioxidant properties, but with uncontrolled doses it may cause hormonal disruption that causes breast growth in men and alters menstrual cycles in women. It can also cause nausea, gastrointestinal problems, and hypertension.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What\u2019s more, consumers have no reliable way to ascertain exactly what ingredients \u2014 and in what quantities \u2014 are in these so-called natural remedies. Others on the list have hidden <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/tadalafil-tabs\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tadalafil<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/cialis\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cialis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/vardenafil\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">vardenafil<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Levitra<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors are the most common hidden ingredients in products on this list, there are others. Here are just a few examples:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Sibutramine: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This prescription medication was previously used for weight loss but has been withdrawn from the market in several countries due to safety concerns.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Phenolphthalein: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Phenolphthalein is a laxative that was once used in over-the-counter (OTC) products but has been banned in the United States because of concerns that it may cause cancer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fluoxetine: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fluoxetine is an antidepressant (Prozac) that\u2019s only available by prescription.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Herbal Sexual Enhancement Products in the Headlines<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/erectile-dysfunction\/viagra\/which-herbs-act-like-viagra\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Herbal sexual enhancement supplements<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hit the headlines in the fall of 2015 when former NBA star Lamar Odom was found in a coma after allegedly ingesting 10 &#8220;Reload&#8221; tablets before arriving at a legal Las Vegas brothel.
