Peanut allergies are the most common food allergy affecting Americans. In hopes of combating the allergy, researchers from Duke University Medical Center have begun an experimental therapy where children with peanut allergies are given daily oral doses of peanuts. Researchers have found this therapy to be successful in helping children build up tolerance to the food allergy, but caution that, because this is an experimental process, it should not be done by parents at home. <\/p>\n
