Erection Problems are no laughing matter. Well, until now. Full time doctor and part time comedian Dr. Jason Leong has assembled an all-star team of Asian comedians for a comedy show titled Get Hard, Stand Up!<\/em>\u00a0The production is a first-of-it’s-kind comedy show that utilizes humor as a platform to overcome the challenges of social and cultural sensitivities in discussing sexual health issues.<\/p>\n

With more and more young men grappling with Erection issues problems, Dr. Leong realized that men needed to be informed about the affliction. But the good doctor noticed that while young men were quick to joke about the problem, they were shy about seeking out information. Thus, Dr. Leong, the winner of the 7th Hong Kong International English Comedy Competition, decided to use his comedic chops to spread information.<\/p>\n

“I figured if we approach ED in a light-hearted manner, it would be better received by men and their partners. Most importantly, the comedy is a novel approach to a serious topic,” Dr. Leong said.<\/p>\n

Dr. Leong then recruited his funny friends from all across Asia, which includes Rishi Budhrani (Singapore), GB Labrador (Philippines), and Vivek Mahbubani (Hong Kong), and found funding for the production through Pfizer Malaysia, producers of Viagra.<\/p>\n

“We’re not here to sell any products during\u00a0Get Hard, Stand Up!<\/em> It’s purely an awareness show,” Dr. Leong was quick to stress.<\/p>\n

Dr. Leong also assures that while the show is for 18 and up, the comedy is “clean” and appropriate for everyone.<\/p>\n

“ED is a global phenomenon as well as a lifestyle problem. It can be a subtle indicator of underlying problems such as not eating right, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, etc. ED makes a man feel less like a man, and there is a stigma attached to the disease. But when you joke about something, it makes it easier to talk about. Hopefully\u00a0Get Hard, Stand Up!<\/em> will help to educated, dispel any misunderstandings, and make people laugh!,” Dr. Leong said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
