A recent study conducted by researchers in Taiwan has discovered that men with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are at a higher risk for ED erection health problems risk than men without IBS. The study, published in\u00a0Andrology<\/em>, compared 17,608 men newly diagnosed (from 1997 to 2010) with IBS and 70,432 controls without IBS. <\/p>\n

It was found that the incidence of erectile dysfunction was 2.9 times higher in the IBS men than in the control group (29.5 vs 10.1 per 10,000 person-years).<\/p>\n

Additionally, the study revealed that men with IBS had a nearly 2.6 times increased risk of erectile dysfunction compared to the control group. Researchers also found a correlation between increased age and increased risk for erectile dysfunction in those afflicted with IBS. <\/p>\n

The study also found that men suffering from comorbidities \u00a0such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease were also at increased risk of erectile dysfunction. In addition, men diagnosed with depression were also at a higher risk of developing erectile dysfunction (aHR: 1.97; 95% CI: 1.49-2.63).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
