Apricus, a pharmaceutical company based in San Diego, is developing a new cream to treat loss of erection issues, or ED.\u00a0The cream is called Vitaros, and is being tested by drug regulators in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

President and Chief Executive of Apricus, Bassam Damaj, said that the submission for approval\u00a0is a milestone for the company and for men who are looking for an alternative to current remedies.\u00a0 The drugs to treat erection issues do have side effects for some men, and can be costly.\u00a0Damaj hopes this new product will give men more options.<\/p>\n

\"\"Apricus will have to\u00a0wait for\u00a0the European Medicines Agency to approve the product and check its safety before it can be sold.\u00a0The company plans to get FDA approval as well so the cream can be sold in the U.S.\u00a0The company\u2019s\u00a0president is hoping\u00a0Vitaros will be on stores shelves\u00a0by the latter half\u00a0of 2011.<\/p>\n
