Marketing plans are currently under way and a Canadian launch is expected in 2011.<\/p>\n 2. It may become available in the U.S.<\/strong> Apricus hopes to market the drug to more than 100 additional countries. They\u2019ve begun the approval process for the United States as well.<\/p>\n 3. You rub it on, like salve.<\/strong> Vitaros is an on-demand topical cream that is applied directly to the penis before a sexual encounter.<\/p>\n 4. It doesn\u2019t contain sidenafil<\/strong>. Rather than the active ingredient in Viagra, Vitaros contains alprostadil, a common vasodilator that is currently distributed as an injection or penile suppository for erectile dysfunction.<\/p>\n 5. It has fewer side effects.<\/strong> Since the only U.S. FDA-approved ED meds are in pill form, Vitaros offers the advantage of being less invasive, as it is not absorbed into the body systemically. Because of this, Vitaros users should expect fewer side effects than those treating their ED with oral medications.<\/p>\n 6. Vitaros works quickly<\/strong>. Scientists from Apricus say that it produces a viable and sustainable erection within minutes.<\/p>\n 7. It\u2019s safer<\/strong>. Unlike Viagra, Cialis and Levitra, Vitaros can be used by patients who are treated with nitrates or alpha blockers for heart problems or diabetes. These patients are discouraged from using the FDA-approved oral ED drugs since those drugs can cause a harmful or fatal drop in blood pressure.<\/p>\n 8. It\u2019s been exhaustively tested. <\/strong>Vitaros was clinically tested in over 3,300 patients, including some with underlying prostate issues, and was proven to be both safe and effective.<\/p>\n 9.
