Did you know there are 12 prescription drugs that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says should NOT be ordered from an Internet pharmacy?<\/p>\n
In a Consumer Safety Alert, the FDA listed 12 drugs that come with special safety restrictions on how they can be sold. These are considered "restricted distribution drugs" because of the potential dangers of them being used incorrectly. The FDA says the following drugs should not be purchased through an Internet pharmacy:<\/p>\n
Patients needing these drugs should use the traditional route of visiting their doctor in person.<\/p>\n
The FDA also cautions consumers against buying medications from foreign, non-US Internet pharmacy sources. It says online pharmacy websites that are not located in the US are not selling FDA-approved versions of drugs. Because the products they sell are outside the reach of FDA inspection and manufacturing controls, they could be dangerous or ineffective.<\/p>\n
