Study: Using Condoms is Enjoyable for Men<\/figcaption><\/figure> Condoms tend to get a bad rap when it comes to how pleasurable sex is compared to direct contact with no protective barrier. But a study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine<\/em> found that protected sex is actually just as enjoyable as unprotected sex.<\/p>\n

And the survey says \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conducted by researchers from Indiana University School of Public Health, the study used online questionnaires to assess the quality of sex among men and women ages 18 to 59. The survey asked questions about whether condoms or lubricants had any effect on the quality of their sex life.<\/p>\n

The results indicated that both sexes reported sex to be just as pleasurable regardless of whether condoms or lubricants were used. For men, using condoms or lubricants didn\u2019t make a difference in whether they could get an erection.<\/p>\n

A latent finding from the study<\/strong><\/p>\n

The results of the study demonstrated a disparity among the sexes when it came to purchasing and using condoms.<\/p>\n

Men were much better suited to answer whether the condoms they used were lubricated. They were also more likely to know what material the condom was made of.<\/p>\n

What does this tell us? For one thing, women need to get more involved in choosing condoms so they can not only prevent pregnancy and disease but also get the most pleasure out of sex.<\/p>\n

So what does<\/em> make it more difficult for men to enjoy sex?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If condoms aren\u2019t to blame, what stands in the way of men enjoying sex?<\/p>\n

Although many men who suffer from physical causes of erectile dysfunction (ED) can enjoy sex thanks to erectile dysfunction drugs such as Cialis, there are some whose erectile dysfunction is due to psychological issues.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, men who experience erectile dysfunction due to performance anxiety, depression or stress-induced anxiety often don\u2019t seek help due to cost, embarrassment or the idea that \u201creal men\u201d should be able to fix their own problems. Help could mean talk therapy, antidepressants, medications like Xanax to help them relax, yoga, meditation or even exercise, which is known to help relieve stress.<\/p>\n
