By now you’ve heard all the effects smoking can do to your body, but it’s not common knowledge how smoking affects the penis.<\/p>\n

An erection occurs when you have mental and physical attraction, arteries in the penis will expand, filling with blood after receiving signals from the nerves in the penis. This set’s the brain into motion and the nervous system is operating at “all systems go.”<\/p>\n

Even when the nervous system is operating at full capacity it’s common in men to experience ED, smoking damages the nervous system, increasing your odds of developing ED.<\/p>\n

Blood flow<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nicotine causes blood vessels to become narrow, hence reducing blood flow. An erection is the result of more blood flowing to the penis.<\/p>\n

Blood vessels become constricted when nicotine enters the system and this makes up some of the reason nicotine can be to blame for causing ED in some men.<\/p>\n

It’s important to note that this constriction can be permanent, which can make treating ED in men that smoke tricky.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s never too late to quit. You may have tried and failed before but you can do it. If you find that you can’t do it on your own, get help.<\/p>\n
