ProSolution Plus claims to be able to help men suffering from premature ejaculation, yet our investigation suggests that the buyer should beware.<\/p>\n<h3>What Is Premature Ejaculation?<\/h3>\n<p>Let\u2019s start by defining normal. It\u2019s important to know that there\u2019s no average time it takes a man to ejaculate after penetration. It doesn\u2019t cure any specific condition or symptoms; it just \u201cimproves your libido\u201d and \u201cmakes you last longer in bed.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/happy-couple-at-the-beach.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a yet another dubious product from Leading Edge Health, which makes other \u201cmale enhancement\u201d supplements including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/erectile-dysfunction\/vigrx-plus\/\">VigRx<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/erectile-dysfunction\/extenze-male-enhancement-pills\/\">ExtenZe<\/a>, which we\u2019ve reviewed in other articles. Importantly, it\u2019s not a medication and hasn\u2019t undergone rigorous clinical trials.<\/p>\n<h3>What Are The Ingredients in ProSolution Plus?<\/h3>\n<p>On their website, Leading Edge lists seven ingredients, citing a source for each claim:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/happy-couple-at-the-beach.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><em><strong>Tribulus terrestris.<\/strong> <\/em>This herb is claimed to relax the corpora cavernosa in the penis, making it easier for blood to enter.The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3604572\/\">study they cite<\/a>, however, was conducted on rats, and there\u2019s been little study of this claim elsewhere.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><em><strong>Withania somnifera.<\/strong><\/em> This plant, also known as ashwagandha, is said to have positive effects on stress, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC9297375\/\">testosterone levels, and overall sexual well-being<\/a>, but we weren\u2019t able to find direct evidence that it can improve premature ejaculation.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><em><strong>Asparagus adscendens.<\/strong><\/em> This may <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/20564504\/\">alleviate stress and inflammation<\/a>, but it\u2019s not clear if this effect extends to humans.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><em><strong>Mucuna pruriens. <\/strong><\/em>This herb contains L-DOPA, which has been linked to increased erection frequency and sexual activity. But so far, the only species that we know experiences <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/19429319\/\">these benefits are rats<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><em><strong>Asteracantha longifolia. <\/strong><\/em>This supposedly increases desire and gives you better control of your orgasms, but again, so far, we\u2019ve only seen <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/19753500\/\">these benefits in rodent studies<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><em><strong>Curculigo orchioides. <\/strong><\/em>This herb is another one that supposedly makes you more sexually confident and more likely to have sex, but <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/17643866\/\">the study cited<\/a> was done on animals, not humans.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><em><strong>Asphaltum.<\/strong><\/em> Also called shilajit, this is a common supplement in Ayurvedic medicine that supposedly contains a high amount of essential minerals. As the name implies, yes, it\u2019s related to asphalt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of note is that none of these, separately or in combination, were shown to be harmful to human health. <strong>But the key takeaway from this ingredient list is that all of the studies cited have significant limitations, and none of the claims that they can help with PE are substantiated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then there\u2019s the issue of ingredients that may not be on the label. Pro Solution, a related product, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/medication-health-fraud\/public-notification-pro-solution-contains-hidden-drug-ingredient\">the subject of a 2017 warning <\/a>by the FDA for containing sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, though it didn\u2019t appear on the label. And Leading Edge Health <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations\/advisory-letters\/leading-edge-health\">got in trouble with the FDA<\/a> in 2019 for its claims related to other products.<\/p>\n<h3>Is There Research to Support ProSolution Plus?<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36783 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg\" alt=\"ProSolution Plus researcher\" width=\"780\" height=\"521\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg 780w, https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many of the claims of effectiveness for ProSolution Plus are drawn from <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/21336094\/\">a study conducted in 2011<\/a> that reports the participants saw better erections and were less likely to experience premature ejaculation. The full study is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prosolutionplus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/prosolutionplus-clinical-study.pdf\">on their website<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While the study is interesting, it seems to have been the only one conducted on this product, and it only looked at a small sample of 147 Southeast Asian men. By contrast, a phase III clinical trial for an FDA-approved medication can involve between 300 and 3,000 participants.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They also tout the endorsement of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drdavedavid.com\/\">Dr. Dave David<\/a>. Notably, however, Dr. David isn\u2019t a urologist or in a similar discipline \u2014 he\u2019s a cosmetic surgeon and obstetrician.<\/p>\n<h3>Does ProSolution Plus Work?<\/h3>\n<p>Leaving aside the relatively limited evidence for the effectiveness of the ingredients, one of the key issues here is that because we don\u2019t really know what causes premature ejaculation in the first place, we can\u2019t really say anything treats it, either.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Four out of seven ingredients on the label of ProSolution Plus aren\u2019t known to treat premature ejaculation. The remaining three are at least related, but if you\u2019re not having any problems with getting an erection, you likely can secure a preparation of these from an herbalist for the same cost or less.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And if you suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED), medications are available that have been thoroughly tested in humans and have been on the market for decades that have been shown to work.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>One in particular, tadalafil, the active ingredient in Cialis, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5433372\/\">holds some promise<\/a> in treating some forms of premature ejaculation in some circumstances. In addition to talking to a doctor about tadalafil, take the following steps:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ProSolution-Plus-researcher.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Discuss your premature ejaculation with a doctor.<\/strong> Get the facts, not the myths. Some cases of premature ejaculation are considered \u201cperceived,\u201d and the issue is not with your body but may be psychological instead.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Get a check-up.<\/strong> There are real medical causes of PE, especially if it starts happening suddenly.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Talk with your partner.<\/strong> Perhaps the biggest myth is that your partner finds PE inherently disappointing or a problem.
