The Rhino founder has been jailed for smuggling.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>There\u2019s little information available about the brand, who currently owns it, or its manufacturing and safety processes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>The government lacks any efficient method of removing these products from the shelves.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">[<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/erectile-dysfunction\/pastillas-masculinas-rhino\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Espa\u00f1ol<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">]<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve been inside a gas station or convenience store in the last ten years, you\u2019ve probably seen a brand of herbal supplements called Rhino, in packaging festooned with wild animals and extravagant claims about ED. You may have wondered just how safe these pills are. It turns out that with Rhino pills and other \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/mens-health\/gas-station-sex-pills\/?utm_source=rss&amp;utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=gas-station-sex-pills\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gas station sex pills,\u201d <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">it\u2019s smarter to stay away.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>What are Rhino Pills for Men?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legally speaking, Rhino pills are herbal supplements that are claimed to help with erectile dysfunction and other sexual concerns using natural methods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond that, there\u2019s not a lot out there about the Rhino brand or its product philosophy or reasons behind the herbal blends it chooses. This is perhaps unsurprising in light of the fact that the man generally considered the creator of Rhino pills, Nam Hyun Lee, was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-cdca\/pr\/south-korean-national-sentenced-nearly-4-years-federal-prison-smuggling-erectile\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sentenced to four years in prison in 2021<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for smuggling sildenafil into the United States.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was accused of using the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/sildenafil-citrate\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sildenafil<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the active ingredient in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/buy-viagra\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Viagra<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to taint his herbal supplements. If a look at current Rhino products is any indication, Lee\u2019s prison sentence has done nothing to stop the problem.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>What Has The FDA Said About Rhino Pills for Men?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While it\u2019s pretty hard to nail down who runs this company now, the company\u2019s unfortunate history of tainted products is easy to track. In fact, our research into the FDA archives found warnings related to 25 products sold under the Rhino name dating back to 2007. Note that this is only the first ten results of a total of 30.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/2.png\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In some tests, the FDA found dangerous combinations of drugs. In 2021, one type of Rhino pill was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/medication-health-fraud\/public-notification-rhino-se7en2-contains-hidden-drug-ingredients\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">found to contain both sildenafil and tadalafil<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the active ingredient in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/cialis\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cialis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Combining ED drugs can be particularly dangerous because they all work by opening up your blood vessels. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/erectile-dysfunction\/viagra\/can-you-take-cialis-and-viagra-together\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taking them together can trigger a dangerous drop in blood pressure<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another Rhino supplement, Rhino 8 Platinum 8000, was tested in 2016 and updated in 2018 and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/medication-health-fraud\/public-notification-rhino-8-platinum-8000-contains-hidden-drug-ingredient\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">found to be tainted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with no fewer than four drugs not listed on the label:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sildenafil\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N-desmethylsibutramine, an appetite suppressant\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Phenolphthalein, a laxative that\u2019s being phased out of the market <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cancerres.aacrjournals.org\/content\/56\/21\/4922.full.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">due to cancer risk<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that presents risks to people with kidney, liver, or coagulation problems<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/3.jpeg-2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35107 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/3.jpeg-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"cashier\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/3.jpeg-2-1.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/3.jpeg-2-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/3.jpeg-2-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/3.jpeg-2-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/3.jpeg-2-1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whether all of these were added deliberately, or the sildenafil used to taint the herbs was itself tainted with other drugs, has never been established. Both are credible scenarios.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The risk to people who buy Rhino pills is very real. For people with allergies to any of these unlisted medications, the consequences can be significant. Others may take medications that have dangerous interactions with one of these hidden ingredients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The non-profit news organization FairWarning studied complaints submitted to the FDA on Rhino pills and similar products and found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salon.com\/2021\/02\/08\/potent-rhino-pills-outlast-anything-even-the-arrest-of-their-creator_partner\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at least 49 reported incidents of injury<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including one possible death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you think Rhino may have learned the error of its ways from all these warnings, their official site implies otherwise. When we went through the products available on their online store, we consistently found recommendations that align suspiciously with contraindications for ED medications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In particular, the product pages for each pill warns against taking nitrates, which also open up the blood vessels, and to not take Rhino pills if you have a heart condition. These warnings are the only information on the page; you won\u2019t even find an ingredients list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are other signs that Rhino pills may contain sildenafil. Despite the claims on the packaging that it can work for long periods of time, directions say to take one of these pills an hour before intimacy, just like the instructions on sildenafil and Viagra.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019re also warned that the pills will only work if \u201cstimulated,\u201d exactly the way ED medications work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lee isn\u2019t the only one who\u2019s gone to jail for these issues. In September 2020, for example, a husband and wife distributing these products in gas stations across the Southeast <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations\/press-releases\/husband-and-wife-plead-guilty-naturalization-fraud-and-conspiring-illegally-import-and-distribute\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pleaded guilty to multiple charges<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Under the DSHEA Act of 1994, supplement makers don\u2019t have to submit their products for FDA approval, as long as they abide by certain conditions and don\u2019t make any specific medical claims.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, they don\u2019t even have to tell the FDA they\u2019re launching a product. Remember, Lee smuggled in the sildenafil separately from his herbs and doctored the product afterward; it wasn\u2019t shipped with the pharmaceuticals already inside.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Without consistent data or proof of malice, there\u2019s not much the FDA or other government agencies can do under the current law.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Safer Alternative to Rhino Pills for Men<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fortunately, you don\u2019t need to bother with risky supplements. In fact, many of them are more expensive per dose than ED medication that\u2019s proven effective.
