While a recent study claimed that very few young children were receiving influenza vaccinations, a new study states that flu shots have been largely ineffective in children younger than six years old. According to the study, child vaccinations did not reduce the number of doctor or hospital visits during the past two years.<\/p>\n
Doctors associated with this study agree that the nasal spray flu vaccine is much more effective than a flu shot, but the nasal flu vaccine can only be used by those older than two years old. For younger children, the shot is still recommended.<\/p>\n
