\nFor our final experiment, we turned to the Golden Age of TV superheroes: Underdog and Roger Ramjet. We combined them with the Power Puff Girls: kindergartners Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

They may have been two-dimensional characters, but the girls and Underdog had a cornucopia of super powers: flight, super strength, X-ray and heat vision, super senses, near invulnerability, and energy projection.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Roger Ramjet didn\u2019t have all those powers, but a Ramjet Proton Energy Pill invented by Roger Ramjet, \u201cwhen taken as directed by a physician, gives the strength of twenty atom bombs for twenty seconds.\u201d You probably don\u2019t get that prescription filled at Walgreens.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The source of the Power Puff Girls\u2019 powers was called Chemical X, whereas Shoeshine Boy (Underdog\u2019s alter ego) took a Super Energy Pill to become the canine crime fighter.<\/p>\n

We called another online pharmacy, this time answered by a Spanish fellow with English as a distant second language:<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> Good morning, I was hoping to pick up some medications for my family. Do you have any Chemical X in stock? It\u2019s for my little girl.<\/p>\n

ONLINE PHARMACY:<\/span><\/strong> I\u2019ll check, sir. What was that again?<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> Chemical X. You know, Chemical like in Chemicals, and X, like Malcolm X.<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> I\u2019ll look.<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> Yeah. It\u2019s great stuff. It helps them with their strength, and their vision, and hearing and heightens all their senses, and they can fly and do homework better, and it helps them run faster and jump higher\u2026<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> No, sir. We don\u2019t have any of that.<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> Okay, well how about Ramjet Proton Energy Pills? I\u2019ve got to do some yard work today, and I\u2026<\/p>\n

OP: <\/span><\/strong>How do you spell that?<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> \u201cRam\u201d like a male sheep, and \u201cJet\u201d like a fast plane. You know the stuff. You take it and it gives the energy of about twenty atom bombs. It\u2019s used to fight crime, or to blow up a country.<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> No sir, we don\u2019t have that either.<\/p>\n

JP: <\/span><\/strong>Really? That\u2019s surprising. Your website says you also sell pet drugs, can you transfer me to that department?<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> I can take your order for pets here, too.<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> Oh, that\u2019s great. Do you ever get the dog pills mixed up with human pills?<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> That has never happened, sir.<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> Okay, well, I\u2019m looking for, uh, \u201cSuper Energy Pills.\u201d They\u2019re made by a company called \u201cUnderdog.\u201d<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> Super Energy Pills by Underdog. I\u2019m looking, sir.<\/p>\n

JP: <\/span><\/strong>Well, they\u2019re supposed to be for dogs, but I\u2019m going to give them to my kid, my boy. The guy down the street says they work really good.<\/p>\n

OP: <\/span><\/strong>Yes, sir\u2026still looking.<\/p>\n

JP: <\/span><\/strong>Well my kid, you know\u2026he\u2019s humble and lovable but he\u2019s a little shy, and I want to give him a little kick in the ass.<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

JP: <\/span><\/strong>You know what he wants to be when he grows up? A freakin\u2019 shoeshine boy. Can you believe that?<\/p>\n

OP: <\/span><\/strong>Sir, we don\u2019t have anything under the Underdog name, but there are some others. Something with the generic name tepoxalin. It\u2019s a very strong pain killer for dogs.<\/p>\n

JP: <\/span><\/strong>Can I give that to a kid?<\/p>\n

OP: <\/span><\/strong>We wouldn\u2019t advise it, sir.<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> But you\u2019d sell it to me, if I wanted to try it?<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> It\u2019s up to you, sir.<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> You know what? I think I\u2019ve had enough for today.<\/p>\n
