When people think of superheroes, they usually think of Superman, Spider-Man,<\/p>\n

Wonder Woman, Batman, the Hulk: figures with amazing powers and abilities beyond those of mortal men. Cool stuff like super strength, X-ray and heat vision, the ability to fly.<\/p>\n

But how do superheroes get <\/em>their superpowers? Usually it\u2019s a freak occurrence like a radioactive spider bite, or exposure to gamma rays. But can\u2019t those things be replicated? To find out, we recently conducted an experiment to see if we too, could become a (very) minor superhero, by ordering the same drugs from online pharmacies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nExperiment #1: Super-Stretchiness!<\/span><\/strong>

\nWe started with the rubberiest superheroes: those with elastic limbs and extremities like Elongated Man <\/strong>and Stretch.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Although they sound like the spokesmen for Viagra<\/a>, their main power appears to be the ability to get a beer from the fridge without getting up from the couch. Their powers are fueled by something called Gingold, made from \u201cgingo,\u201d a fictional fruit of the Yucatan.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Not to be confused with Ginkgo<\/strong>, a real-life plant sold to hippies.<\/em><\/p>\n

We decided to see if an online pharmacy had Gingold in stock. A lovely island woman answered:<\/p>\n

ONLINE PHARMACY<\/span>:<\/span><\/strong> Thank you for calling ___, may I help you?<\/p>\n

JP: <\/span><\/strong>Hello, I was wondering if I could order some Gingold. It\u2019s for, ah, stretching out<\/em>.<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> I\u2019m sorry. Could you spell that, please?<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> It\u2019s Gingold, like Hermione Gingold. The actress.<\/p>\n

Hermione Gingold. When she was hot.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> We don\u2019t have that sir, but we may have it in a generic. What is it for?<\/p>\n

JP: <\/span><\/strong>Well, it allows regular people to stretch their arms and legs and neck really far. Like, really<\/em> far.<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> Stretch?<\/p>\n

JP: <\/span><\/strong>Sure, like if you wanted to walk over a big river or maybe wrap your arms all the way around Oprah.<\/p>\n

OP:<\/span><\/strong> Sir, I don\u2019t have time for\u2026<\/p>\n

JP:<\/span><\/strong> It might work with other appendages, too. Maybe you could lasso cattle with your Johnson.<\/p>\n
