New research indicates that longer lasting allergy vaccines could be coming soon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Results were presented at an American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology meeting, showing that a ragweed vaccine being tested was safe and effective. Additionally, separate ragweed vaccine research was conducted at the Johns Hopkins Asthma and Allergy Center in Baltimore. This vaccine was found to successfully block seasonal allergy symptoms. The results of the research were recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine.<\/p>\n

These new vaccines would potentially provide allergy sufferers with longer protection against allergy symptoms, and would require fewer injections. Currently, it takes between 6 and 18 months of weekly injections for the vaccine to be effective. The new long-lasting vaccines would only require 4-6 injections.<\/p>\n

Additional studies are being conducted, and the FDA is reviewing data related to these vaccines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
