When HSV-1 infects the eye, this can cause discomfort on the eyelid, the white of the eye, the cornea, or even internal structures of the eye.<\/p>\n<p>When a patient suffers from herpes in the eye, they will often experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Redness<\/li>\n<li>A feeling of scratchiness<\/li>\n<li>Tearing<\/li>\n<li>Irritation<\/li>\n<li>Blurry vision<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are experiencing these kinds of symptoms, it\u2019s important that you visit an ophthalmologist, an eye doctor, to be diagnosed.<\/p>\n<p>The herpes virus often goes dormant, and symptoms can disappear for a time, retreating into the nerve fibers of the body. Herpes never disappears, however, but often returns to the skin and sometimes the eyes. Patients tend to experience these outbreaks in warm weather, in the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.edrugstore.com\/std-sexually-transmitted-diseases-treatments\/herpes-outbreaks\/\">spring and summer<\/a> months.<\/p>\n<h3>How Common Is the Herpes Virus?<\/h3>\n<p>If you are suffering from the herpes virus, know that you are not alone. The virus is very common.
