Medical Director of the Shining Stars Foundation Dr. Larry McCleary joined the show. Shining Stars Foundation is a nonprofit organization located in Colorado that provides programs for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Dr. McCleary is also a retired Chief of Neurosurgery at Denver Children’s Hospital and author of “Feed Your Brain – Lose Your Belly<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Larry McCleary<\/strong>, M.D., was Acting Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Denver Children\u2019s Hospital. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he performed postgraduate work in theoretical physics at Boston University. He was first in his class at medical school at the State University of New York\u2013Buffalo, did his surgical internship at the University of Minnesota, and completed his residency in neurosurgery at New York University\/Bellevue Medical Center.<\/p>\n

Dr. McCleary\u2019s other books include The Brain Trust Program: A Scientifically Based Three-Part Plan to Improve Memory, Elevate Mood, Enhance Attention, Alleviate Migraine & Menopausal Symptoms and Boost Mental Energy (Perigee Press, 2007) and the two-volume set Bald Is Beautiful: The Shining Stars Foundation Guide for Living with Childhood Cancer (2009), which can be ordered online at www.ShiningStarsFoundation.org<\/strong><\/a>. He has also published numerous medical articles in Cancer, the Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Neurology and the American Journal of Neuroradiology among other peer reviewed periodicals.<\/p>\n
