It\u2019s hard to say why physicians avoid intimate questions when treating their lupus patients. One of the reasons could be time constraints. It\u2019s also possible rheumatologists are not comfortable talking about sexuality.<\/p>\n

This is a real disappointment for patients who clearly wish to have these conversations. According to research<\/a>, 72% of patients with lupus would like their rheumatologist to discuss sexual issues at every visit. 82% would like to be informed about how the disease may affect their intimate life.<\/p>\n
