It\u2019s the season when the traffic is horrendous<\/a>, shopping lines are long and lines at the therapist\u2019s office are even longer. You can make it through this season. <\/p>\n Take a deep breath and try one of these tricks while entering the combat zone this holiday season.<\/p>\n 1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Take Breaks<\/strong><\/p>\n This time of year can be gloriously fun filled and great, or it can be miserable and tedious with only material positions as end goals. Try to lighten up a little and especially if you are a last minute shopper like many people are, try taking more breaks than normal. If you\u2019re stuck at the mall for a day of shopping, have lunch and read your book for a minute. That tiny break is what is going to keep you sane while battling hoards of shoppers and the overwhelming need to buy everyone a present.<\/p>\n 2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Treat Yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n Sure you\u2019ve spent all of your money and driven yourself further into debt. That is to be expected when trying to make everyone happy on your shopping list. Don\u2019t forget to make yourself happy too. At the end of the total madness of holiday shopping, treat yourself by buying something you want. Think of it as an early present to yourself, just because.<\/p>\n 3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Cards<\/strong><\/p>\n Instead of purchasing 1000 generic cards to pass out to your coworkers, friends and family 4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Keep Your Head Straight<\/strong><\/p>\n While this all can be frustrating, infuriating and maddening to say the least, try to keep your head. It\u2019ll be over soon and you will be sad that you didn\u2019t really take the time to enjoy yourself. The holidays are about spending time with the people you love most. Remind yourself of that and just take it all in stride. If you find yourself reaching wits end, just tell yourself you did the best you could. just skip the whole thing. Chances are you really weren\u2019t going to write anything unique in it anyway. Instead make or buy a cake or something similar for the office. Bake your family cookies for the holiday gathering. It will save you time and energy that you will need to make it through this season.<\/p>\n
