They would buy a small silver pouch of \u201cincense\u201d under names like K2 or Spice.\u00a0 Once the DEA caught on to that they passed an emergency rule banning the substances from store shelves.\u00a0 After that teens found a new target; bath salts.\u00a0 Now, the DEA has followed suit by banning that substance as well.<\/p>\n
The man-made high<\/strong> “There is no tolerance for those who manufacture, distribute, or sell these drugs anywhere in the country,” DEA Administrator Michele M. Teens claim snorting bath salts gives them a \u201crush\u201d or a euphoric feeling.\u00a0 The salts have mephedrone and methylone in them, which come from an herb.\u00a0 The salts are compared to ecstasy, and were easy to get before the ruling.\u00a0 A small container costs $20 and can be found at many shops.<\/p>\n
\nThe trouble is the new rule only bans certain ingredients.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t stop a manufacturer from tweaking their recipe and putting it right back on store shelves.\u00a0 Authorities can\u2019t keep up with the changes made, or the new products teens turn to.\u00a0 Recent reports show an increasing number of teens are also smoking hookah<\/a> and show those that smoke also drink<\/a>.
