3 New Studies on Erectile Dysfunction<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Three new studies on erectile dysfunction were presented at the 113th<\/sup> Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Urological Association on May 19.<\/p>\n

Erectile dysfunction study No. 1<\/b><\/p>\n

The first study, which was about insurance coverage for men who need a inflatable penile prosthesis for refractory erectile dysfunction<\/strong> (mostly prostate cancer survivors), analyzed nearly 4,600 cases. It found that 82.6% of the men had coverage benefits for erectile dysfunction treatment<\/a> but about 15% had exclusions for inflatable penile prostheses.<\/p>\n

Erectile dysfunction study No. 2<\/b><\/p>\n

The second study focuses on erectile dysfunction in male adult entertainers. Researchers used a 40-question online survey to ask men in the adult entertainment industry about things like erectile aids, anabolic steroids, and erectile dysfunction<\/strong>. Of those surveyed, 73% say they used erectile aids, with
\nerectile dysfunction pills<\/a>, such as Viagra, being the most common (58%). About 13% of the men who used erectile aids say they used a combination of injections and erectile dysfunction pills, such as Viagra<\/strong>. None used penile implants.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s interesting to note that 42% of the men in porn report erectile dysfunction<\/strong>, which is similar to the general male population, with the exception of entertainers under 30.<\/p>\n

Erectile dysfunction study No. 3<\/b><\/p>\n

In the final study that was presented at the conference, researchers looked at the sexual satisfaction of men with erectile dysfunction<\/strong> who were treated with a penile prosthesis. All of the men with a prosthesis gave a score of 5 (out of 5) regarding their confidence in sexual performance.<\/p>\n

A penile prosthesis is generally a last resort for men who don\u2019t experience success for erectile dysfunction<\/a> after trying things like erectile dysfunction pills, such as
\nViagra, or testosterone treatments or penile pumps<\/strong>. Erectile dysfunction pills, such as Viagra, tend to work for more than 80% of men, however, so most doctors don\u2019t deem it necessary to recommend a penile prosthesis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
