Generics Tightly Regulated<\/strong><\/p>\n

Given the U.S. Food and Drug Administration\u2019s stringent regulations<\/a> governing the manufacture and marketing of generic drugs, such fears are pretty much groundless, but nevertheless they persist. Under FDA rules, generic medications must \u201ccontain the same active ingredient; have the same strength; use the same dosage form (for instance, a tablet, capsule, or liquid); and use the same route of administration (for instance, oral, topical, or injectable).\u201d<\/p>\n

Greenstone\u2019s generic version of Viagra and another marketed by Teva pharmaceuticals went on sale in the United States on December 11, 2017. They will soon be joined by still other generic formulations, and the resulting price pressures should help to move prices of both brand-name and generic Viagra even lower.<\/p>\n
