The female version of erectile dysfunction<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ankle shock works by lightly stimulating the tibial nerve, which runs from the sole of the foot to the bottom of the spine, and by boosting blood supply.<\/p>\n

The lead researcher, biomedical engineering expert Tim Bruns, says, \u201cWe are very hopeful this could help many women who suffer from sexual dysfunction. Some studies say 10% of adult women have arousal disorder, but others report it\u2019s as high as 28%.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although the initial research was done on mice, the researchers are now running a trial on women with arousal disorder, something that is believed to affect up to 45% of women.<\/p>\n

How erectile dysfunction works in men<\/strong><\/p>\n

As with erectile dysfunction in men, arousal disorder in women can be caused by physical or mental issues or a combination of the two. But often, when women aren\u2019t interested in sex, it\u2019s often first assumed that it\u2019s psychological. With men, however, it\u2019s often first assumed that it\u2019s physical.<\/p>\n

When men see their doctor to request a prescription for Viagra, the goal is often to rule out any underlying health concerns that could be causing the erectile dysfunction, such as diabetes or heart disease.<\/p>\n

But more often than not, when a woman sees her doctor about a lack of arousal, the doctor may first ask questions regarding possible infidelity, relationship issues, stress or depression.<\/p>\n

Regardless of the cause, Viagra works for more than 80% of men with erectile dysfunction, and we can only hope that a slight shock to the ankle will work for at least 80% of women with arousal disorder.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
